EXPEDITIONS
Sylvia Plath said it best,
"I would be forced shivering into a new,
unfamiliar world, where I had to forge new friends
and a home for myself, and although such experiences
are painful and awkward at first, I know...that
they are the best things to make one grow -
always biting off just a bit more than you chewed
before and finding your amazement that you can..."
Field expeditions are
not an add on at Northwest Passage High School,
they are an essential part of the program. By
the time a 9th grader graduates from our school
it is hoped that they will have completed several
local field studies, one extended national expedition,
visited Washington D.C. and participated on
an international expedition. It is our goal
to make them free for all students. Here are
a few examples of this year's expeditions.
Leadership Retreat:
Incoming students will
participate in a leadership development course
culminating with a 2 day leadership retreat.
They will have an opportunity to participate
on a high ropes course and team building activities
